Detention Centers

Detention Centers on this map are those facilities known to detain immigrants in ICE custody for over 72 hours. These facilities include federal facilities owned and operated by DHS, federal facilities contracted to be run by private companies, and county jails either county-run or contracted out.

Whether federal or local, all facilities are prison-like, and are often located in isolated, remote areas far from legal representation and community support.
