We welcome applications from prospective board members who are committed to our mission, share our core values, and are prepared to provide professional support and guidance to the staff during the transition of DWN to an independent 501(c)3. We anticipate up to three seats will be open on the DWN Board of Directors for a three-year term (2022-2025).

Development Manager

Location:  Anywhere in the U.S. 

The Development Manager will play a critical role with DWN’s fundraising efforts, contributing to a sustainable and thriving organization. The ideal candidate is a skilled fundraiser who has creative ideas about development for a small and growing national nonprofit. They will have demonstrated success in a development role, including a track record of securing foundation grants, sponsorships, and/or individual major gifts. They are highly organized and have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, at times under tight deadlines. The Development Manager is an excellent writer, clear communicator, and relationship builder who is committed to the Network’s mission.

Digital Manager

Location: Anywhere in the U.S.

The DWN Digital Manager will manage and drive DWN’s online strategy, playing a critical role in amplifying DWN’s message and mobilizing audiences to take action. Amongst other responsibilities, they will manage DWN’s social media accounts and email engagement strategy including content development, video production and design with the goal to grow DWN’s audiences and increase campaign visibility.

 Policy Counsel 

Location:  Washington, DC area (remote work acceptable at least through fall 2021)

DWN’s Policy Counsel will work to advance policy related to DWN’s mission to abolish immigration detention, providing technical assistance and educating the public, lawmakers, DWN members, and other stakeholders. They will also play a role in strengthening DWN’s engagement with decision-makers and allies in DC as well as engaging with members across the country to incorporate their perspectives into DC-based advocacy. They will engage in legislative and other policy related advocacy, including working to promote local, state, and federal reforms, urging key decision makers and stakeholders to advance systemic change, and providing support and assistance to DWN members.
